Whiting Bay

As a family we have been coming to Whiting Bay for our holidays for the past20 years and have experienced the amazing scenery and atmosphere first hand with our growing family of four children. Our teenagers still enjoy our summer family holiday.

Arran and Whiting Bay in particular is a lovely safe environment for children of all ages but offers adventures through golf, fishing, walking, cycling etc. In order to obtain the best from your holiday in Whiting Bay, here is a list of some of the amenities available:

  • Arran banner: local newspaper has a list of what's on from day to day throughout the island.
  • Coffee Pot: offering coffee, home baking, light snacks.
  • Eden Lodge: Bar and Restaurant – very good quality, wide range of freshly cooked dishes. Good Value. Food available from 12 noon to 9pm daily.
  • Village Store: well stocked grocery store/off-license.
  • Post Office: sells usual postal goods.
  • Village Newsagents: newspapers, wide range of goods.
  • Coast Bistro: available for morning coffee, lunch, evening meals.
  • DIY store: also sells wine, household goods.
  • Sandbraes (south end of the village)
  • Grocery store: well stocked grocery store/off-license.
  • Trafalgar Restaurant: Gege (pronounced geegee) cooks fantastic local produce and served by Wolfie her extremely sociable husband.
  • Nursery/Organic Foodshop: Pick your own strawberries, raspberries etc in the summer. It also has a good farm shop well stocked with organic produce.
